The wicketkeeper-batsman made an impressive debut in the third IND vs ENG Test in Rajkot, scoring 46 runs. He followed it up with a resilient innings of 90 runs off 149 balls in the fourth Test match in Ranchi, where he smashed four sixes and six boundaries, aiding India in narrowing their deficit against England.</p> <p>In the same match, the 23-year-old remained unbeaten with a score of 39 off 77 deliveries, forming a crucial partnership with Shubman Gill. This partnership played a pivotal role in India securing a five-wicket victory. Consequently, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the team took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match Test series.</p> <p>Adding to the positives for Jurel, he is poised to be included in Group C of the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) central contract, a recognition of his contributions and performance, particularly in the Ranchi Test. The BCCI, in a recent statement, affirmed this impending inclusion in Group C.</p> <p>“Athletes who meet the criteria of playing a minimum of 3 Tests or 8 ODIs or 10 T20Is within the specified period will automatically be included in Grade C on a pro-rata basis.
